New Year; New Outlook?
2005-01-03,

Just a few minutes here, kids, til I'm off to Official Product Training as part of my permanent hiring on. Mainly I'm just doing this to practise writing out the date.

Had a good weekend. Since the kids were going to be at their dad's for New Year's, we had a fake one on Thursday. We stayed up watching The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, eating popcorn and counting down to Fake New Year.

H and I spent the actual New Year at a friend's place, nice and casual but full of laughter, and we quietly celebrated our engagement anniversary. New Year's Day was celebrated with much sleeping in, Big Salad at Ruby Tuesday and finally the introduction to H of her late Xmas, early Valentine's Day present, a trip to the Akron Civic to see Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood, along with dinner beforehand, of course. She seemed particularly excited. Yay.

This evening we're going to go warehouse shopping for the business; there's a place within walking distance of our house that has spaces available that are small enough for our purposes, at least to start. If we (the org) can manage it, it'd be fantastic to have it right there. It's got a little office, a sizable warehouse space and a bay door in the back, starting at 1000 square feet. The one we saw online was 1500 square, but we might be able to get by on 1000. We'll see tonight, I suppose, even though we're still guessing as to the volume of materials with which we're potentially dealing. It's one big guessing game, and not the kind I'd prefer. Oh well.

Okay, I'm off to Official Product Training.

Quick note: just got back from today's lessons. Slow, but the people are nice. And free lunch. And there'll be things to memorize. Ack. Lucky I've been practicing memorizing lines for shows. That part of my brain has actually gotten some excersise lately! Go figure.
