Ignoring Moses

One example of why I recommend turning off your TV once and a while:
Last night, H and I were recovering from our day by snuggling on the couch. Usually, we'll watch something that we DVR'd, but we were too tired to try and even focus on a TV show. So we just lay there together and talked for a while. For one reason or another, we ended up debating the lyrics to the Simple Minds song, 'Alive and Kicking'. After a few moments, we realized that neither of us registered more than about twenty percent of the words, and I'm pretty sure nary a complete sentence. Way to go, Simple Minds! Maybe there's a reason that the only song of yours that got really popular (Don't Forget About Me) was written about someone else!
Anyway, I was only really half awake during the conversation, and I ended up having a waking dream of a video for Alive and Kicking. The scene was a largeish playground, with park benches spotted throughout and wood chips on the ground. The premise of the video (I just knew this, there was no setup) was based around two people that were meeting IRL for the first time for a lunch date after first meeting each other online. Jim Kerr is there, sitting on a park bench (sans girls with bad intent) next to the date-meeting woman, singing away and swinging his arm over his head. Only, the woman is actually just a large (maybe softball-sized) eyeball on a yard-long stick. The date-meeting man sits on another park bench, looking uncomfortable, realizing his date is an eye on a stick, and debating whether he should just leave, hopefully unnoticed. And all the while, "Alive and kicking... stay until your love is..." and whatever else he says.
You can't make this stuff up. I recorded it here at the behest of H, the inspiration for my unique brand of madness.
